"Today, the amount of married couples that actually have sucessful marriages is alot less than the amount of couples that divorce. Is it really true that married couples don't really love each other? Shouldn't love last for many, not few? Is it all really about the sex? Doesn't anybody really love anymore...?"

Buy the ring, say the words,
I do, I do, I do.
Sign papers, break the words,
I don't, I don't, I don't.
Destroy love, create hate,
I love, I hate, I love.
Fuck the girl, Let her rot,
I hate, I love, I hate.

When you say you will die with her,
You are really lying just so you can,
Have the sex and reproduce,
Legal rape for those who hate.
Eternal bliss for those who love.

Why can't this love ever last forever?
What happened to the beautiful proposition?
Did you just get bored of her tits that fast?
Didn't you ever care to look a bit further?

All you wanted was sex, sex, sex.
All I wanted was love, love, love.
The few people that actually witness eternal happiness,
Get to actually feel the bondage between two star-crossed souls.
Yet the rest of the degenerated unmoralized goats,
Get to let their spawn weep for the useless split in companionship.

Slight insanity, hormone strike, total boredom,
All of this contradicts love so damn easily.
Caring and purity so overdominated by lust,
All anybody desires is body, yet not soul.
Spirituality ignored, erotica in majority,
Love's power declined to a distilled thought.

These unpure rotten beings,
Know not love's sacred blessing.
Breeding more of these mindless drones,
Let us lovers teach them the morals.
Change the statistics to correct favor.
Love shall rise in it's prime again,
And you shameless morsels will cry,
As cupid arrests you for legal rape.
For the real lovers deserve it all.
To be permanently bonded in eternity.
A little poem I made dealing with married couples and how they don't seem to last. I got the idea from hearing that statistic about 'em, and I thought that it seemed a bit staggering...so I wrote this. Hope you enjoy it.

wow, very nice. its really staggering how peoples minds are wired isnt it? it almost seems like a fad to get married and then divorce ust a few years later, i know my parents did it, i know a lot of peoples whos parents did it, but then we look back, only one generation more, and it seems a good majority of grandparents (where both are living) are still together, but again, it seems like a fad, here with the times, the world is about sex, no one cares at all.
amazing job Austin my boy, as your poetry always it (even if it takes me forever to get around to reading it) ;)
